National Executive Directors Realize IMPaX

Abe
and Shirley Unger were introduced to IMPaX in August 1994 by married
friends from church. The couple noticed Abe was limping into choir
practice. He explained he had an arthritic knee, but declined
their invitation to an IMPaX meeting to learn how EnerPrime works.
The Ungers ignored the subsequent follow-up messages left on their
answering machine.
"After
the fourth message we paid attention because they invited us to
a dinner presentation," says Shirley. "Abe likes to
eat."
Dinner
was served on a warm August evening in 1994. Four years later
the Unger’s friends retired to the Oregon countryside, able to
abandon a stressful job and realize a long-time dream. The royalty
income they receive monthly from IMPaX on the business built by
the Ungers made that choice possible. Not a bad reward for having
two friends over to dinner!
"At
first I thought EnerPrime was green snake oil," says Abe.
"We’d been on supplements since 1970 and had a kitchen counter
full of them. I’d had all the medical treatments available for
my knee. The next step was surgery. Figuring I had nothing to
lose, I started taking EnerPrime, and within three months I was
playing racquetball. My doctor was so impressed he began taking
it for his diabetes."
"Many
of the ingredients in this product were ones we were already using,"
notes Shirley. "I’d been wishing for a product in powder
form, and I liked the idea of drinking all the vitamins, minerals
and phytonutrients in one simple, convenient serving. I was taking
it as a preventive and I noticed changes in my body within the
first week. By the third month I noticed a considerable reduction
in the endometrial pain I’d dealt with for
years," she says.
"I
had no interest in the business opportunity," says Abe. "I
was building houses. Shirley, on the other hand, was going to
save the world!"
Abe
refused to sign the application, so Shirley signed alone. The
first check was $15.70, and Abe teased her. However, when the
checks increased, Abe "could see there was a business opportunity
here." At every IMPaX convention she advanced to a higher
level, so he finally got involved.
"In
January 1995 we were number one in the company," Shirley
recalls. "They blew us away with a complimentary trip to
Hawaii. I was so floored I was shaking."
What’s
her secret? "What I have always done from day one was consistently
share both the product and the opportunity," says Shirley.
"And we always enroll in our third level or deeper for a
strong organization. That’s very important."
Shirley
also sets her goals high and doesn’t allow other events to interfere.
"When I decided I wanted to go Executive I was only halfway
there, and Abe said it was impossible in the time I had left.
IMPaX had a great promotion running and I was determined to qualify.
We created a strategy and broke it down into baby steps we could
accomplish daily, weekly and monthly. It worked!"
"The
best way that we’ve found to get to the next level is to help
others grow their businesses," says Shirley. "Every
time IMPaX has had a promotion our goal has been to be at the
top and to teach our downline to do the same."
The
Ungers experienced one of their greatest periods of growth while
planning a wedding and a class reunion, selling a home, buying
another, and moving. "We see a full schedule as an opportunity,"
says Shirley. "During that period we enrolled the jeweler,
the realtor who listed our house, the carpet layer and the cabinet
maker!"
"My
goal was to get off the roof," says Abe, "and I have."
Shirley says she’s found great satisfaction in helping others
improve both their health and finances. "When I started I
thought it was just about a product. When the checks started coming
in I realized it was also about helping people with their finances.
It’s become a passion."
The
Ungers lead by example. They’ve qualified consistently for every
award for which they’re eligible. Not only do they qualify for
the Star Pool Bonus each month, they often qualify for two
or three shares! In April they achieved the distinction
of becoming 5-Star Leaders on the IMPaX Star Team. This earned
them a bonus of $450. In addition, they won the Top-Star Bonus
of $1,000 and an extra bonus of $1,290 by qualifying for two
shares in the Star Bonus Pool. That’s a total of $2,740 they received
in April in addition to their ongoing monthly residual
income!
Abe
and Shirley, your example is an inspiration to all the new leaders
rising in your organization. By duplicating what you do, they,
too, will achieve the highest position in IMPaX: National Executive
