Preliminary Study Results Show EnerPrime
Beneficial in Combating ADHD
|
A
study conducted by Ronald C. Jones, M.D., to determine whether
individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
function and behave better after consuming EnerPrime has shown
encouraging preliminary results.
A
pediatrician in Provo, Utah, Dr. Jones sent letters to families
with histories of ADHD asking if they would be interested in participating
in a study involving the dietary supplement EnerPrime. His letter
stated, “This is not a vitamin, but is a high-density, nutritional
energy and antioxidant drink, designed to strengthen the body
system.”
His
letter went on to say, “After talking to several parents and knowing
of positive changes in several of my own patients who were on
EnerPrime, I decided to ask the company to let me further evaluate
their product, and they agreed.
The
study attracted 44 participants, four of whom were adults. Of
the 40 children, 32 were boys ages 4 through 17 (average age 9.6),
and eight were girls, ages 7 through 16 (average age 10 years).
Participants
were asked to consume EnerPrime for a minimum of four to six weeks,
and children on stimulants or other medication were instructed
to continue their medicine. Dr. Jones asked the four adults and
the parents and teachers of the children in the study to submit
progress reports every two weeks for a total of six weeks. Parents
and teachers recorded observations in four categories:
- Attention
span (inattentiveness)
- Hyperactivity
- Behavior
- General
health
Preliminary
findings
The
reports from parents and teachers were reviewed separately. Even
during telephone inquiries early in the study, parents reported
encouraging results. “Does not talk back as much,” reported one
parent. “Calmer, less flighty, does homework with less pressure
from parents, gets along with sister,” noted another.
Dr.
Jones is optimistic about the results of his early research and
will continue to conduct studies evaluating the effects of EnerPrime
on individuals with ADHD and share findings as they become available.
